Amazing Gift Ideas

Recently I was asked to build a board for a Wedding Guest book, to be signed by the guests and hung on wall thereafter. I thought what a fantastic idea!! Then I thought, why restrict the boards to that, and now I can offer fantastic Wallhangers for reduced prices, but keeping the same quality.

Its amazing how one thing leads to something else.

Please contact me at info@hwsurfboards.com for any questions you have about Wallhangers & Wedding Guest Books. I will be pleased to try to answer any questions you may have.

Different Board Designs

Hi Guys,

I am experimenting with a couple of new designs. Please note, these are not new designs in the world of surfboards, but new designs for me!!!

I am going to build a 6' 4" 'Reverse Egg' type shaped boards. I have no idea how this board will perform, as the widest point is nearly 24" wide.

I am also going to build a 6' 8" Tail Wing. This is a popular board with Foamies, as the turning ability is excellent. The main probs to overcome when building these boards from wood, is the strength issue when you feather in the tail.

Both board designs will be available on request at my Forum just log in and post a request on the forum. I will also be posting the build progress for all to see in my Projects folder.

Hollow Wooden Surfboards UK Community

Dudes,

I am looking to create a UK Community for Wooden Surfboard builders. I have been inspired by Rich Blundell & Roy Stewart to name but a few quality builders from around the world. I think there is great potential for these boards to take off in the UK and would welcome any feedback or discussions about this.

Please feel free to comment on anything you see, or would like to ask. As the community grows, so will the knowledge for us all, as best practices are shared, surf breaks, surf trips are documented......the potential is limitless.

Be a part of the growing community, break from the foam blur. The past is the future.

HW Surfboards

After building several Foam Core surfboards, I was searching the Internet for new techniques, I stumbled across the Tree to Sea Wooden Surfboards Forum. This is an amazing forum that shows every detail you could ever need o make your own boards. Its created & owned by Rich Blundell, who actively takes part in the discussions on the Forum and offers excellent advice while sharing his own vast experience. Add this to the thousands of members, and you have a comprehensive coverage of all things Wood!

I was hooked instantly, and have never gone back to Foam. The inspirational designs and build techniques made it a no brainer for me. These were the boards I wanted to build and surf from now on. Add this to the environmental benefits and you are on to a winner!
On this Blog, I will be commenting on other builds I have seen plus my own projects. I will also be writing about other items relating to HWS in the UK. Please check out my Forum where the Hollow Wooden Surfboard community come together.
